III. Key Advantages
Six Major Advantages of the 120W Marine Power Supply
CCS Certification Standards and Professional Marine Design
Developed in strict accordance with the relevant requirements of CCS Classification Society certification, the product also meets industry standards such as Q/GDW514-2010 and DL/T721-2013, as well as relevant specifications of the State Grid and China Southern Power Grid.
From design and production to testing, the entire process is aligned with the usage requirements of marine equipment, ensuring reliable quality.
Wide Temperature and Environmental Adaptability for All Operating Conditions
Temperature:
Operates across a wide temperature range of -40°C to 70°C, with a storage temperature range of -40°C to 105°C.
Humidity:
Supports 5%-95% humidity at -5°C to 45°C, and 10%-100% humidity at -40°C to 70°C, with no condensation requirement.
Altitude:
Operates normally at altitudes up to 3,000 m. Above this range, derating can be applied according to relevant standards.
The product adapts to temperature, humidity, and altitude variations across different navigation environments, including offshore and ocean-going operations.
Interference and Shock Resistance Optimized for Marine Environments
The product offers strong electromagnetic compatibility. Conducted and radiated interference comply with EN55022 Class A standards, while electrostatic immunity, conducted immunity, and radiated immunity meet high-level international standard requirements. This enables the product to resist electromagnetic interference during marine navigation.
Vibration and shock performance comply with GB/T11287-2000 Class I requirements. The product can withstand vessel bumps and vibration during navigation, maintaining structural stability and reliable operation.
Sufficient Power Margin and Strong Load Adaptability
The power supply supports long-term operation at 120% rated load. Voltage regulation is ≤±0.5%, load regulation is ≤±3%, and maximum ripple noise voltage is only 300 mV.
With stable output voltage and low ripple, the product is well suited for onboard control units, communication units, and other equipment with high power quality requirements.
Battery Charging Compatibility for One-Stop Power Supply
The unit can directly charge 7-100Ah / 12V lead-acid batteries or gel maintenance-free batteries without requiring additional charging equipment. It can form a complete power supply system with backup battery support, simplifying marine electrical system configuration and reducing installation and maintenance costs.
Long Service Life, High Reliability, and Low Maintenance Cost
With a mean time between failures, or MTBF, of ≥100,000 hours, the product offers strong stability and a low failure rate.
Its modular design is compact, lightweight, and easy to install, requiring minimal space. Maintenance is simple and does not require complex procedures, significantly reducing maintenance costs for marine equipment.

IV. Key Module Breakdown
Building a Reliable Power Supply System from Multiple Dimensions
A high-quality marine central control power supply depends on precise electrical parameters and a well-designed architecture.
Formitek’s product adopts a dual-input design with both AC and DC input, delivering outstanding performance across key indicators.
Power Conversion Module
High Efficiency, Energy Savings, and Low-Loss Operation
Under rated AC input conditions, the efficiency exceeds 94%, with overall efficiency of ≥85%. This significantly reduces energy consumption in marine electrical systems and helps lower fuel-related energy losses.
Inrush current is ≤35 A, ensuring a smooth startup process and avoiding impact on the vessel’s power grid. Combined with a natural cooling design, the product requires no additional cooling equipment, simplifying installation and making it suitable for compact marine equipment layouts.
Protection Module
Multiple Safeguards for Reliable Safety
The product features built-in output short-circuit protection and output overvoltage protection.
In the event of a short circuit, hiccup protection is triggered, and output automatically resumes after the fault is cleared.
The default overvoltage protection action voltage is 14 V, which can also be configured according to requirements. Output resumes once the fault disappears, helping prevent equipment damage caused by overvoltage or short-circuit conditions at the hardware level.
The product also provides excellent insulation safety. Under normal conditions, insulation resistance is ≥10 MΩ; under damp-heat conditions, it is ≥2 MΩ. The input-to-output terminals can withstand an AC 3000 V / 1-minute dielectric strength test, while input-to-protective-earth can withstand an AC 1500 V / 1-minute test. Leakage current is <30 mA, with no breakdown or arcing, ensuring the safety of both the marine electrical system and operating personnel.
Display and Communication Module
Intelligent Monitoring and Remote Control
The product is equipped with a digital display that shows output voltage and current in real time, making equipment operating status easy to check during onboard inspections.
It also includes one CAN communication interface, enabling remote telemetry, remote signaling, and remote control. This supports intelligent management of marine power systems, allowing operators to monitor power supply status without on-site operation and improving overall marine power management efficiency.
Structural Protection Module
High Protection Rating for Marine Environments
The product adopts a fully sealed metal housing, with a protection rating of IP65 or higher, in compliance with GB4208-2008 standards. It effectively resists salt spray, moisture, dust, oxidation, and humidity in marine environments.
The housing grounding wire is reliably connected to earth, improving system anti-interference capability while further enhancing operational safety.
Dimensions, excluding connectors:
180 mm × 178 mm × 68 mm, L × W × H
Weight:
<2,000 g
The compact and lightweight design makes installation convenient and space-saving.
